The Omicron Gamma Zeta Chapter believes in empowering the leaders of tomorrow, today! We offer Houston area students meeting the below criteria to apply for our annual scholarship. While investing in our future, we are also honoring our everyday heroes with community awards! Nominate someone you know today!
Application Criteria:

A completed Academic Scholarship Application (must be typed or can be auto-filled online and printed). Click the blue button below to download a copy of the application.

An official sealed transcript. (Must be sent by the high school registrar to the address listed)

Two letters of recommendation from a school counselor, teacher, employer, community service organization representative, etc. (No letters from family members, please)

A minimum of 30 documented community service hours on official letterhead. (e.g., church nursery, nursing home, public library, tutoring),
-
500-750 word essay (must be typed, 12 point font, Times New Roman, double spaced, and 1” margins) responding to the topics of your scholarship choice.

Nominees are individuals whose volunteer service directly benefits others and/or organizations through:

Fundraising and charitable contributions that support youth or senior programs, local non-profits, and/or humanitarian aid

Performing outstanding volunteer work as an individual or a company

Serving as a community role model and mentor
02 / Blue Apple Award
The nominee exhibits the following characteristics:

Create a love of learning in students of all abilities and backgrounds

Stimulates thought and provokes student dialogue

Challenges students to reach high standards and expectations

Understands the needs of students individually and collectively, and meets those needs with determination, enthusiasm and imagination
